Cincinnati native and noted cosplayer Matt Charleston, a.k.a. Sebastian Hexx, will judge the kids costume contest at Queen City Black Comix Day on Aug. 29!

Steampunk Character Building Workshop at MECCACon!

Want to get into steampunk but not sure where to start? Ofeibea Loveless of Airship Ashanti and the Midwest Black Speculative Fiction Alliance will discuss the film short Steamfunk and Rococoa: A Black Victorian Fantasy (steampunk as it pertains to people of color) and lead a steampunk character building workshop at MECCAcon 2015! Airship Ashanti comes at steampunk from a West African perspective, which is rare in the steampunk community, and Ofeibea’s presentation will touch on steampunk from a non-Victorian perspective. Andre Batts of Detroit’s Urban Style Comics will attend Queen City Black Comix Day on Aug. 29! He’s the founder of the Motor City Black Age of Comics Convention.

Queen City Black Comix Day – VENUE CHANGE

GOOD NEWS! We’ve had so many local artists say they want to participate in Queen City Black Comix Day on Aug. 29 that we need a bigger room! We’re moving the event to the St. Bernard branch of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, 10 McClelland Ave., up the street from Roger Bacon High School (Cincinnati, OH 45217).
